What it actually is
Documents are compiled by a typesetting engine rather than a headless browser. That is the difference that matters in practice: page breaks, repeating table headers and pinned footers behave predictably when the data grows, instead of depending on how a browser happened to lay out a page that day.
Templates are edited through an AI assistant that reads and writes the template source, its schema and its sample data — so a change can be described in plain English and still produce a document you can inspect. A .docx file can be imported as a starting point. 126 designs ship as starting points, each one authored against a stated contract for what happens when real data replaces the sample.
Rendering is a single authenticated request that returns
application/pdf.
The same document library is reachable from a hosted MCP server, so an AI agent can
generate documents directly, and the editor itself can be embedded in another product.
